I’ve been watching this hill for a few months now, ever since the first signs were erected. The road here is on the edge of the town of Bovey Tracey, one of the attractive ‘gateway to Dartmoor’ towns. At far left is a digger and further left, out-of-picture, are large storage tanks of dry mortar and new trenches for essential services. Beyond them are the first of the new houses in various stages of completion.
There are still trees behind me, but what has recently appeared, and in the centre of this photograph, was unexpected, and saddens me greatly.
Last Spring, sheep grazed on this hill.
